WINNERS OF " KADRAJIMDAN KARATAY FOTOĞRAFÇILAR BULUŞMASI  (KARATAY PHOTOGRAPHERS MEETING THROUGH MY VIEWFINDER) " ANNOUNCED

KILCA: THE EVENT OFFERED US VERY IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITIES TO BRING KARATAY'S MEMORY TO THE FUTURE AND TO INTRODUCE OUR DISTRICT

The winners of the “Karatay Photographers Meeting Through My Viewfinder” organized by Karatay Municipality have been announced. While the competition jury had a hard time determining the winners among 565 beautiful photographs taken by 119 competition participants in Karatay between the 14th and 17th of July,  Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca noted that the "Karatay Photographers Meeting Through my Viewfinder" achieved its purpose in terms of promoting the district with all its values and bringing Karatay's memory to the future.

The winners of the "Karatay Photographers Meeting through my Viewfinder" organized by Karatay Municipality to contribute to the promotion of Karatay's natural beauties and historical and cultural wealth have been announced.

130 people registered for the competition, which started on Thursday, July 14th, and ended on Sunday, July 17th, while 119 participants attended the event with 580 photographs.

THE JURY HAD A HARD TIME CHOOSING THE PHOTO

The jury of the aforementioned competition, which was organized with the support of the Photographic Art Federation of Turkey (TFSF), gathered on 17 July and started their selection among 580 photographs from 119 participants sent to the competition. When it was found that 15 photos from three participants did not comply with the specifications, the jury members evaluated 565 photos of 116 participants. Jury members, who carefully evaluated the photos participating in the competition for four rounds, determined the works that ranked among the top three among the 22 works that went to the final, as well as the honorable mention and exhibition works.

HERE ARE THE NAME OF THE WINNERS AND THEIR AWARDS

The names of the winners and the awards they received after the evaluations of the jury members at the “Karatay Photographers Meeting Through my Viewfinder” are as follows; “

Among the competitors, Volkan Karagülleoğlu won the first place with the photo he took in the Karatay Lavender Garden, Cengiz Teksoy won the second place with the photo of the Aziziye Mosque, and Ekrem Kalkan won the third place with the photo of the Karatay Madrasa. The honorable mention awards of the competition were given to Hatice Avcı, İsa Cıda and Ebubekir Binol.

While Enes Top won the Drone Special Award at the event, the exhibitors among the participants are as follows; Ali Altın, Aylin İsfendiyar Ceylan (2 photos), Cengiz Teksoy, Durmuş Ceylan, Ebubekir Binol, Ekrem Kalkan, Emine Özpınar, Emrah Aksoy, Faruk Faruk, Gazi Aydın, Gülin Yiğiter (2 photos), Hakan Donlar, Hilmi Pekel (2 photos) ), Levent Ateş, Mehmet Koru, Muhammet Akar (3 photos), Orhan Badur (2 photos), Rahmi Çevik, Selçuk Mükremin Kattaş, Serdar Aydın, Şenol Çöm, Volkan Karagülleoğlu, Yasin Çetin and Yunus Türkyılmaz.

On the other hand, in the "Karatay Photographers Meeting Through My Viewfinder" competition, the winner will be awarded 12 thousand TRY, the second 10 thousand TRY, and the third 8 thousand TRY. In the competition, where each of the three honorable mention works will be awarded 4 thousand TRY, A Drone Special Award will be awarded 4 thousand TRY, and 1000 TRY will be given per work for 30 works deemed worthy of exhibition.

“Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, who thanked the jury members and everyone who contributed to the organization of the event, as well as the names who participated in the "Karatay Photographers Meeting Through My Viewfinder", emphasized that the competition achieved its purpose.

Mayor Hasan Kılca said the following: “Our Karatay is the cultural and historical center of Konya with thousands of years of history and values. From Karatay Madrasa to Aziziye Mosque, from Shams of Tabriz Tomb and Mosque to Mevlana Tomb, the 'Sultan of Hearts', to the 800-year-old Obruk Inn and Obruk Lake, and many more, Karatay is completely different. "Karatay Photographers Meeting Through My Viewfinder" was held to remind and introduce us to these beauties once again and bring them to the future. The beautiful photographs taken in the competition also showed us that our district is a completely different town with all its aspects and there are many more points waiting to be discovered.  I hereby would like to congratulate all our friends who took the frames selected by our esteemed jury members among hundreds of photographs, and I would like to express my gratitude to all our amateur and professional photographers who participated in the event for their contributions to our district.
